NEW CLIENTS REQUESTING FOOD FROM GREATER THINGS OUTREACH CENTER

(Residents of Davidson County, NC Only)

We know this can be a difficult time for you and your family.

Please know that we will do our best to assist you and make you feel welcome.

ON YOUR FIRST VISIT:

1)  On arrival, park at the back of the building, and walk to the front door or back loading dock to check in.

     

2)  Bring photo ID and proof of address for yourself

     Photo ID: Driver’s license, Voter ID or any government ID with your picture.

     Proof of address Examples: Utility Bill, Medicaid Card or Government Mail, bank information and other official documents       with your current address. We cannot accept personal mail or Drivers License as proof of residence.

3)  Bring photo ID and proof of residence for all people that live with you.

      Adults: photo ID and current proof of address required (see examples above)

      Children under 18: Medicaid card or a school record with your current address

      Children under school age: Medicaid card or their birth certificate

4)  After checking in, you will choose to either shop for your food or receive a pre-packed box. 

5) You may return to the food pantry to get food once every other week.

PARKING RULES:

Parking in the front of our building is reserved for clients with disabilities. You must have a Handicapped placard or handicapped license plate issued in your name.​

 

All others may park in the rear of our building in the gravel lot (not on the grass); only as follows: After 4PM Tuesdays & Thursdays and Wednesdays after 9:00 AM.  

Do not park in the Ripple Building lot or in front of the Coffee Shop

The FOLLOWING WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE AND PERMANENT SUSPENSION:  

  • We do not allow smoking within 25 feet of any entry to our building. (If you must smoke, park at the back of the lot, and smoke only in your vehicle. Do not throw cigarette butts and trash on the ground.)

  • GTOC has a ZERO tolerance for verbal or physical abuse of our volunteers and clients.

  • Alcohol, Illegal drugs, or weapons of any kind are not allowed on GTOC property. This is grounds for immediate and permanent suspension. We take the safety of our clients and volunteers seriously.

  • Selling or attempting to return any items received from GTOC will earn a permanent suspension.

*All information collected during your application is held in the strictest of confidence. Many statistics are needed to apply for grants that help to keep the Pantry well stocked. Additional surveys may be taken from time to time. Only percentages and numbers are used. We never use names for these grants.
